Please read the details below regarding the update and new features:
Rating Schedule
- Thursday, 21 May: Ratings will be recalculated and released tomorrow 4 PM UK time. This does not include new Base Ratings, which will be rebuilt in early June once all real world leagues finish.
- In 2–3 weeks: Player Ratings will be recomputed again (exact date TBD).
Feature Update: Community Verification
API-Football issues sometimes cause incorrect player IDs or club assignments. Because ratings rely heavily on a club's base rating, these errors cause massive, inaccurate fluctuations. To solve this long-term and move toward decentralization, we are launching a community-driven approach.
How It Works (Live Thursday):
- Reporting: For players with "no stats," you can visit their profile page to report an incorrect club or tag them as retired. (No players will retire automatically this season to give users time to report).
- Proof: Reports require at least one reputable link proving their current club or a recent transfer.
- Verification: Submissions will be verified by the team and potentially the wider community.
- Reputation & Rewards: A point system and leaderboard are coming. Fresh/inactive accounts carry less weight. Correct reports earn points and in-game badges; incorrect reports lose significant points.
Smoother Rating Transitions (Season 3 Promise)
The smoother rating mechanic is now in effect for all skill ratings:
- Moves of 1–5 points: Full change applied.
- Moves over 5 points: Moves 5 points first, then 50% of the remaining gap (rounded up).
This applies up and down for each skill rating. The overall rating will be the highest of the limited skill ratings.
Season 2 was one for the books. ✍️📖
We saw 24,000+ transfers, $11.6M in injections, and some of the most intense tactical battles, with title races going down to the wire!
But the slate is wiped clean and every club is back on zero. Every manager has a fresh start. Whether you’re defending a title or hunting for promotion, the journey starts again tomorrow, January 17th.

Who’s ready for Matchday Round 1?
As we prepare for Season 3, we are implementing updates to balance the matchday experience, economy, and gameplay. These refinements ensure a fair environment and long-term game health.
It is worth noting that we will give up our ability to change the game once we see the balancing right and as part of the journey to becoming a fully decentralised, player-owned ecosystem.
⚖️ Economy & Match Stability
- SVC Multiplier: The multiplier for SVC injections dropped from 1000 to 500 on Dec 26th. This protects the economy from inflation as more Influence enters the world.
- Match Engine: We have fine-tuned defensive and attacking playstyles to ensure more realistic matchday results.
🏟️ New Cup Attendance Formulas
- Domestic Cups: Attendance is the greater of the Home OR Away fanbase, capped at stadium capacity.
- Continental Cups: Attendance is the greater of (a) Home fanbase x 2 OR (b) Away fanbase. This ensures small clubs with massive stadiums don't generate unrealistic revenue.
🤝 Agent & Morale Logic
- Wage-Based Morale: Agents only lower morale to "Unhappy" if a player's wage is below their market renewal rate. Renewing a contract now automatically resets morale to "Happy."
- No Stalemates: Agents can no longer block transfers and renewals simultaneously. Clubs will now have a fair window to sell before a contract expires.
- Future Updates: We plan to add "Played Minutes" to morale logic in Season 4 (or sooner), impacting players who don't see enough game time.
🔄 Fair Play & Transfers
- Transfer Caps: Maximum of 2 players in and 2 out between any two clubs per season.
- Cooling Period: A 10-week transfer ban applies to any player who has just changed clubs to prevent exploitation.
🏆 Competition Updates
While the Champions Cup is unchanged, Cup Winners Cup (CWC) qualification has evolved. If a domestic cup winner has already qualified for the Champions Cup group stage, the CWC spot passes to the cup runner-up.
As posted in our Discord Announcements channel, the latest update to SoccerRatings.org is live! This update introduces the base ratings that will form the foundation for the upcoming Season 3, giving managers an immediate look at the landscape for the new campaign.
Base Ratings for Season 3 Now Active
The website has been refreshed with the latest base ratings. To ensure a stable environment for all managers to scout and plan their strategies, we have paused further updates to the SoccerRatings site until Season 3 officially launches.
While the data is now live, please note that a small number of players who moved clubs during our brief maintenance window may not be perfectly reflected yet. We are monitoring the data closely; while we don’t anticipate further changes, we remain ready to perform emergency updates should any critical issues be identified.
New Players Added
Following an incredible collaborative effort with our community, we have successfully added 2,015 new players to the Soccerverse ecosystem!
Your help in identifying and resolving duplicates was vital in expanding the database to this level. While we aimed to include even more, technical limitations with our third-party data provider (API-Football) meant we couldn't add every requested player or process all retirements in this specific release.
Looking Ahead: February Fixes
We remain committed to providing the most accurate football data possible. We have scheduled a dedicated technical window in February to address current API challenges. During this time, we will work to rectify any missing player data and update retirement statuses to ensure the database is as robust as possible.

The updates are ready for you right now. Head over to SoccerRatings.org to study the new base ratings and scout the 2,000+ new additions.
